Let’s take a look at the latest regarding where the team could land.Penn State had a solid season but suffered losses to Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan. The Nittany Lions, assuming Ohio State knocks off Northwestern on Saturday, are likely third in pecking order in the Big Ten.If Ohio State wins and makes the Playoff, Michigan will land in the Rose Bowl, leaving Penn State as an option for either the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl.If Ohio State wins and doesn’t make the Playoff, the Buckeyes will head to Pasadena and Michigan will get the next New Year’s Six spot.Friday, Sports Illustrated’s Eric Single released a new set of bowl projections. He has the Nittany Lions taking on Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.Obviously, while it’s a prestigious game, it’s not a New Year’s Six contest.Penn State will know its fate on Sunday afternoon.
