first_imgSAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University women’s golfer Madison Glennie earned recognition for her work off the course as the Missouri Valley Conference named her to its 2016 Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete Team.Glennie was tabbed a first-team selection when the league announced its annual honors on Thursday (April 28).Glennie a sophomore from Clear Lake, Fla., owns a perfect 4.0 GPA in English. She was named the MVC Elite 18 Award recipient after the conference tournament earlier this month. Glennie lead the Bulldogs at the league tournament, finishing tied for 15th-place to earn a top-18 flag. She finished the season with a team-best eight top-20 finishes and ended the year with a 77.8 round average.To be eligible for nominations to the MVC Scholar-Athlete teams, nominees must own a cumulative GPA of 3.20 based on a 4.0 scale and be a starter or important reserve and have played in at least 75 percent of its team’s matches. Student-athletes also must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution and have completed at least one full academic year at their respective institution.  Print Friendly Versionlast_img
