Band members said they wanted to star in a horror film after winning last year’s Eurovision Song Contest. – Associated Press Lordi, the mask-clad heavy metal monster band from Finland, is thrashing its way onto the big screen with a horror flick. Band leader Mr. Lordi, whose real name is Tomi Putaansuu, said the English-language fright feature, “Dark Floors,” began shooting this month and is set to premiere in the band’s home country at the end of the year. Mr. Lordi, promoting the flick at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend, didn’t want to give away too many secrets. “Lordi goes to the twilight zone, that is pretty much (what) you can say,” he said. last_img
